After spending my childhood in Cheshire, I developed a particular interest in the abundant and rich history of the salt mines that raised the towns I grew up in; ‘Salis Subterra’, my latest project, has allowed me to delve into this interest and explore the topic as an artist.
After nine months of work, ‘Salis Subterra’, has grown into a long-term project currently featuring two chapters with strong potential for further creative endeavours. In the project thus far, I explore themes of transformation, time, industrial landscapes and the human footprint, engaging in site-specific research and development to further my creative vision.
